Holistic Natural Management

We host horses and donkeys in Holistic Natural Management: starting from the study of habitats, physiological needs, and social habits of horses and donkeys, and collaborating with multiple professionals, we have created PADDOCK PARADISE to host them. The animal here is free to express its natural behaviors and satisfy its needs in a safe and controlled environment, specifically designed for them. Natural management takes into account the 5 fundamental freedoms of the horse:

  • freedom from hunger and thirst (through free access to hay and water)
  • freedom from discomfort (by providing a suitable environment with comfortable areas to seek shelter and rest)
  • freedom from pain, injury, and disease (through prophylaxis, rapid diagnosis, and treatment)
  • freedom to express normal behaviors (by providing sufficient space, suitable structures, and the company of peers)
  • freedom from fear and suffering (ensuring living conditions and treatments that avoid mental suffering).

Furthermore, we have decided to energetically care for spaces as well, rebalancing with natural methods and Feng Shui. We use sustainable and ecological methods and products, including Effective Microorganisms.

Our cornerstones

NATURAL MANAGEMENT

Horses live freely in herds in two different paddock paradises, regularly cared for and cleaned, balanced according to the principles of Feng Shui.

NATURAL NUTRITION

All animals always have natural mixed hay, fresh water, and salt, and can practice self-feeding.

BITLESS & BAREFOOT

All animals are barefoot and followed by a Barefoot Horse Italy trimmer. All horses are ridden without a bit.

COMPASSIONATE APPROACH

We are attentive to the needs of animals and to what they communicate; we offer an alternative way of living the relationship with the horse, based on respect, communication, and empathy.

HOLISTIC TREATMENTS & BODYWORK

All animals can benefit from holistic treatments and bodywork performed by certified professionals, for their greater well-being.

LIVING NATURE

We offer various activities in Nature for adults and children, accessible even to those with no experience with horses.

The Structure

PADDOCK PARADISE

We have two paddock paradises of 6000 square meters each with shock-proof electric fencing by Badifarm and chestnut poles, solid shelters, emergency boxes, anti-freeze automatic waterers, gravel surfaces, and natural enrichments.

NATURAL FEEDING

Hay is administered loosely on the ground to ensure a natural posture and more movement. When the ground is wet, hay is administered in shock-proof hay nets on a stabilized surface.

CONTROL OF HARMFUL INSECTS

We follow a particularly effective and natural fly control protocol, with ecological traps and the inoculation of fly predator organisms.

IDEAL PLACE FOR TRAIL RIDES

We are immersed in Val Nure, surrounded by green paths with access to the Val Nure bridleway and a few kilometers from the Nure and Olza streams.

Our Method

We work with our horses using an empathetic and compassionate approach that starts from the Relationship, taking into account the psycho-physical and cognitive functionalities of the animal. Observation and study of natural behaviors are of fundamental importance.

We pay particular attention to groundwork and liberty work, as a prelude to riding work. We ride our horses exclusively bitless, often without a saddle.

For us, Riding is a two-way educational process of continuous exchange in the human-animal relationship, aimed at achieving the Harmony of the duo.

The activities with horses and donkeys are followed and devised by Maria, who over the years has completed all three levels of Indian Riding, the training level of Natural Horseback Archery & HorseAikido® and is now a student at the Tao of Horsemanship Academy by Caroline Beste. Maria passed the final exam as a Holistic Operator with an Energetic-Vibrational focus by discussing a paper entitled: "Holistic Techniques applied to Equids. Flower Essences, Essential Oils, Crystals, and Reiki"; and is currently training as an Equine Bodyworker at the Holistic Animal Studies.
